Many mortgage options are out there for homebuyers

Homeowners who have less than a 20% down
payment have two primary options for financing their
home purchase. The first option is to take out one
mortgage on the property for greater than 80% of
the purchase price. Today, many lenders offer mortgages
that will allow the borrower to finance 100% of
the purchase price of their property. Another option
for this homebuyer is to take out two mortgages
simultaneously. This practice is commonly called
a combination mortgage or a piggyback mortgage.

Developers
pitch ways to alleviate effects of growth

With most new development in the town on hold, developers
are seeking ways to help Bluffton deal with problems
that have sprung from its rapid growth.
Bluffton is receiving offers from
developers that could help the town build the infrastructure
it needs to handle its growth. On Tuesday, Mayor
Hank Johnston said he expects to have a proposal
to show to the public within 30 days.

residences win home builders award -
BLUFFTON -- Take a good look at your neighbors.
Make sure you know them now, because in the next
15 years, there will be twice as many of them.
That's the forecast from planners with Beaufort
County, Bluffton and Hilton Head Island who are
working to compile a regional plan for the entire
area south of the Broad River. They are forecasting
that today's southern Beaufort County population
will double by 2018, from about 67,000 today to
almost 135,000.
